    • Description :
      Body dark-brown or black with widely-spaced white bands on the front portion, darken progressively over the posterior end. Young examples have 20 white bands throughout the body, but these bands become very faint in larger specimens. Head relatively flat, body scales smooth.

    • Ecological Notes :
      Inhabits mature forest where it appears to be nocturnal and primarily terrestrial. It feeds mainly on lizards.

      Distribution :
      In Singapore, known from two records from the Central Catchment Nature Reserve and Pulau Tekong. It occurs over most of Southeast Asia.
