  • Description
    • Description :
      Head not distinct from body, tail tapering and slightly compressed. Body with black and white bands throughout. Colour pattern similar to that of venomous sea-snakes but tail tapers to a point. Skin loosely hanging and covered with small rough scales.
  • Ecology, Habitat & Location
    • Ecological Notes :
      Nocturnal. Feeds on small fish. Gives birth to live young. Occurs in sea usually in and around river mouths. During low tide, concealed inside mud-lobster mounds. Non-venomous.
      Habitats :
      Aquatic, Mangroves
      Distribution :
      Usually recorded from Johor Straits. Distributed in the eastern Indian Ocean and western Indian Ocean and western Pacific from Hainan and the Philippines to northern Australia.
