      8 cm
      Description :
      Small, slender torpedo-shaped body that is typically olive and brown coloured, with the presence of brownish bars or blotches on flanks, along the length of body. Males typically have more distinct head and jaws, and yellow and red bars are present on their heads and jaws during the breeding season.

      Consumes mainly small invertebrates and organic matter. Highly adaptable to habitats that range from brackish estuaries to freshwater streams.
