  • Description & Ethnobotany
    • Plant Morphology :
      Growth Form: Perennial, warm-season turfgrass, spreading by creeping stolons and underground rhizomes to form close-knit, coarse-textured lawn. Apparently a dwarf cultivar of Axonopus compressus (Cow Grass), up to 5cm in overall height.
      Foliage: Leaf blades shorter and more rounded than that of Axonopus compressus. Internodes compressed and spaced more closely that of species form.
      Flowers: Flowering not observed in Singapore.
      Cultivation :
      Takes full sun, more tolerant of semi-shade than Axonopus compressus. Prefers moist, well-drained soils. May produce bald patches, when grown in clayey waterlogged soils. Minimal thatching tendency. Propagate by division.
