    • Plant Morphology :
      Growth Form: Erect shrub growing up to 2 m tall.
      Foliage: Green leaves are ovate to oblong with a wavy leaf margin. Pinnate venation is prominent.
      Flowers: Small, white flower is pea-shaped and enclosed in a pair of bean-shaped flower bracts. The bracts are arranged in 2 files along the inflorescence stalk in a zigzag pattern. They are initially green, but eventually turn light brown and papery.
      Fruits: Small, cylindrical pods release tiny seeds by explosive dehiscence. Seeds are brown-black with red spots.
      Ethnobotanical Uses :
      Medicinal (In Bangladesh traditional medicine, the roots are used to treat epilepsy, hysteria and fever.)
