    • Plant Morphology :
      Growth Form: Medium to large-sized tree, able to grow up to about 10 - 20 m tall.
      Foliage: Green leaves measuring about 15 - 30 cm long, each leaf consists of 5 - 12 pairs of oblong to ovate leaflets about 2 - 5 cm long and 1.2 - 2 cm wide.
      Stems: Pendulous branches, slender and whitish.
      Flowers: Pink to whitish-pink flowers in a raceme inflorescence, yellow stamens about 10 and surrounded with green anthers. 
      Fruits: Fruit is a cylindrical seed pod measuring about 30 - 70 cm long, turns to black when ripen.
      Etymology :
      Genus Cassia is from the word "Kasia" which was used by Dioscorides from a Hebrew plant name. Species javanica means from Java, Indonesia.
