    • Plant Morphology :
      Growth Form: Evergreen small tree, able to grow up to about 6 - 10 m tall.
      Crown: Round and spreading dense crown.
      Foliage: Dark green obovate leaves, simple and opposite arrangement, measuring about 8 - 20 cm long, margin entire, scars remain when the surface of the leaf is scratched.
      Flowers: Pink to white flowers, solitary and either axillary or terminal, petals obovate and about 3 - 5 cm long, many yellow stamens present.
      Fruits: Fruit is a globose green capsule about 5 - 8 cm wide, turns to black and splits open when ripen, contains many red seeds.

      Etymology :
      Genus Clusia is named after Carolus Clusius (1526 - 1609), a celebrated French botanist and also professor of botany in University of Leyden. Species rosea means rose-like or rose-coloured.
