      Growth Form: A woody climber, it has a twining growth form. 
      Foliage: The glabrous leaves are cordate in shape and 7-veined, the leaf veins are white in colour. 
      Flowers: The dark red flowers are produced in clusters on the lower part of the old stems. The corolla tube is inflated at the base, the inner surface of the tube is lined with hairs. The corolla limb is one-lipped and ovate in shape and has pale yellow lines running from the mouth of the corolla tube.
